Biography
Erin Hipple, MSW, MA, LCSW, PhD (they/them) is an educator, trauma therapist, and qualitative researcher. Their background is in social work, psychology, theater, music, and writing. They received their MA in Psychology at West Chester University and their MSW and PhD in Social Work at Widener University. Erin’s areas of interest revolve around healing. They include exploring resilience and healing in LGBTQIA+ and alternative sexuality communities, sex positive treatment of sexual trauma, radical self-love and community care, healing through resistance to oppressive systems, and exploring the relationship between individual + collective healing.
As a therapist, Erin specializes in trauma-responsive care through storytelling, somatic resilience, radical compassion and embodiment. Their practice is informed by intersectionality, critical theory, and ecosystems theory as well as liberation psychology. They share therapy space with predominantly LGBTQIA+ people and people who participate in alternative sexualities such as consensual non-monogamy and kink. Their teaching, therapy, and research are also informed by restorative and transformative justice practices. Most recently they completed the Body Trust Certification, an interdisciplinary certification rooted in body liberation that helps people to (re)connect and build trusting relationships with their bodies.
Erin seeks to cultivate therapeutic and educational spaces that center an ethic of care, pleasure + joy, creativity, expansive practices of consent, and self-reflection in the individual/collective pursuit of sustainable futures and abolition. They hope you are finding ways to access pleasure + joy in your life in this moment and whenever possible.
