Biography

I earned my Ph.D. in Political Science from Johns Hopkins University, specializing in American Politics. I defended my dissertation, Space and Race in American Municipal Development: Baltimore, 1913-1940, in January 2022 under the supervision of Professors Lester Spence and Adam Sheingate. My work focuses on American Political Development with a specific emphasis on race and urban institutions. I have five years of teaching experience, having taught at Drexel University, Gettysburg College, Johns Hopkins University, and the Maryland Institute College of Art. I have taught a Constitutional Law (a three-course series); Introduction to Political Science; Introduction to American Politics; American Political Development; Cities, Space and Power; Gentrify This! Baltimore and Urban Policy; and Critical Race Theory. I have consistently received strong reviews, with students expressing particular satisfaction with the writing workshop that I run in every class I teach. In 2017, I earned the Dean's Teaching Fellowship from my university. I will begin a tenure track teaching position at West Chester University in the fall of 2023.
