Biography
In my two years as a graduate assistant, I revitalized the Graduate Student Philosophy Conference garnering more student and faculty attention and participation than previous years. As President of the Philosophy Graduate Student Association, I rewrote the group’s bylaws and had them approved and published by the university. The reorganization successfully increased student participation in the organization and laid out the group’s responsibilities and specific methods for discharging them. As an independent scholar, I have recently won first place in an international essay contest for the Next System Project and had my essay published by them. Separately, I have been invited to speak at several conferences on philosophy. As a peer I am congenial and fair-minded, making me the trusted confidant of many of my fellow students. This allowed me, on more than one occasion, to deescalate interdepartmental conflicts.
