Biography
Casey Bohrman (she/her/hers) is scholar activist social worker who is currently an Associate Professor of Graduate Social Work and the Special Assistant to the Dean for Social Work. She has a background working in the public mental health system and with individuals who are unhoused. Her research focuses on behavioral health systems and criminal legal systems. She is a member of the Abolitionist Social Change Collective and her scholarship has focused on the impacts of criminal records. Her preferred research method is Critical Participatory Action Research, where she partners with co-researchers with lived experience. Outside of her research and training, she is a wife and mother of 2 high-energy daughters. She is a retired professional muay thai fighter and a current coach, judge and referee.
