Meet the Office of the Assistant Vice President forHealth & Wellness

Dr. B.K. Taylor
Dr. B.K. Taylor serves as Assistant Vice President for Health & Wellness at West Chester University, where he leads integrated strategies that advance student well-being, belonging, and persistence. His work focuses on aligning clinical services, wellness promotion, and campus partnerships to create a holistic and prevention-oriented wellness ecosystem. With a doctorate in Education and a specialization in student well-being in higher education, Dr. Taylor is particularly interested in the measurement of well-being and its role in student success.
Outside of work, he enjoys technology, Linux systems customization, and exploring innovative ways to optimize performance and design. Dr. Taylor uses he/they pronouns.

Dr. Lisa Montgomery
Dr. Lisa Montgomery serves as Director of Student Advocacy and Resources in the Office of the Assistant Vice President for Health and Wellness, where she leads efforts to support students experiencing financial hardship and unforeseen challenges. Dr. Montgomery also serves as a key liaison and navigator within the university system, leveraging her extensive experience, including prior service as Student Ombuds, to advocate for students and promote their overall success and well-being. Outside of work, Dr. Montgomery enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time with her friends and family. She holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Policy, Planning, and Administration. Her pronouns are she/her/hers.

Dr. Lauren Zahour
Lauren serves as the Associate Director of Operations, assisting the Assistant Vice President for Health & Wellness in coordinating operations across four health and wellness departments. She provides non-clinical support to students navigating university absences due to medical, family, or personal emergencies. Lauren also helps students understand university policies and processes, connects them with campus resources, and works closely with students, faculty, and families around course absences. In addition to her student support role, Lauren leads data and assessment efforts, produces reports to guide service improvements, serves as a secondary member of the CARE Team, and oversees the development of health and wellness policies. She brings previous experience in student conduct, residence life, Title IX, and victim advocacy. Outside of work, Lauren enjoys riding her bicycle, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. She holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Policy, Planning, and Administration.

Kristin Yeager
Kristin serves as the Case Manager for WCU's CARE Team. She works in tandem with the CARE Team on campus to review and implement non-clinical interventions for students. She is also available to consult with staff and faculty on CARE Team-related concerns. In addition to her role with CARE Team, Kristin oversees Health & Wellness marketing and co-chairs the Marketing Committee. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors kayaking, hiking, and tending to her gardens. Kristin holds a B.S. in Human Services and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Public Administration.

Alisa Takala
Alisa serves as the Graduate Intern for the Office of the AVP for Health and Wellness. She assists with the promotion and programming of the office's CARE Team as well as provides non-clinical support for those requiring Student Assistance. Alisa works with the Office of the AVPHW while pursuing her Master of Social Work degree. Beyond her work and program, she enjoys reading, spending time outdoors, and seeing her friends and family.

Brooke Mastro
Brooke serves as the Marketing and Education Intern for the Office of AVP Health & Wellness. In this role, she supports the development and execution of marketing campaigns, creates engaging digital and print content, and manages social media strategies to promote student well-being and CARE Team services. She collaborates with campus partners and student organizations to enhance outreach efforts and raise awareness of available resources. Outside of work, Brooke enjoys photography, traveling to new places, going on walks, and spending time with people she loves.
