Update: Summer 2020
Dear West Chester University Students, Faculty, and Staff,
All across our nation difficult decisions are being made to combat the spread of COVID-19 in our communities. In keeping with the same proactive strategy pursued by Governor Wolf to help protect the health and safety of Commonwealth residents, Pennsylvania State System Chancellor Dan Greenstein has suspended in-person instruction for all summer scheduled classes for 2020 on each of the 14 State System university campuses, and informs that all 14 universities must cancel, postpone or move to a remote delivery all face-to-face events that would have been scheduled during the summer 2020 months.
From now throughout summer of 2020, Chancellor Greenstein clarifies that no in-person experiential learning will occur, including but not limited to clinical rotations, student teaching, internships, field experiences, and other types of academically-related placements. Our faculty and experiential learning supervisors will continue to provide remote-learning opportunities for students to achieve successful learning outcomes.
Know that all of the 14 State System universities will continue to monitor the situations on their respective campuses and, upon consultation with the chancellor, may be granted exceptions for face-to-face on-campus programs that can be managed in such a way that they ensure the health and safety of participants and the broader community.
These are indeed challenging times. As our world responds to today’s evolving landscape, know that West Chester University continues to be here for you and will always do what is in the best interests of our educational community. Golden Rams will always remain resilient.
