Grow PA Funding Opportunities

The Grow PA programs, administered by PHEAA, are designed to support students and strengthen Pennsylvania’s workforce in high-demand fields.

 

Grow PA Scholarship Grant Program

The Grow PA Scholarship Grant Program provides up to $5,000 per year (for up to four years) to eligible Pennsylvania residents pursuing approved programs of study.

To qualify, students must:

• Be a current resident of Pennsylvania.
• Be enrolled at least half-time in a qualified associate or bachelor's degree program: Grow PA Qualifying Programs and Majors at WCU
• File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
• Commit to living and working in Pennsylvania in an in-demand occupation after graduation (for the same number of years the grant was received).
• Sign a Master Promissory Note (MPN) agreeing to repay all funds received if the work requirement is not met, including any potential interest accrued. If the degree or work requirement is not satisfied, you will be required to repay the Grow PA Program.

Grow PA Tuition Waiver Program

The Grow PA Tuition Waiver Program offers in-state tuition rates to eligible out-of-state students attending Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) universities, including West Chester University.   

To qualify, students must:

• Be enrolled as a first-year student (beginning 2026–27).
• Be considered an out-of-state resident.
• Be enrolled full-time, in-person, in a qualified course of study: Grow PA Qualifying Programs and Majors at WCU
• File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
• Commit to living and working in Pennsylvania in an in-demand occupation after graduation (for the same number of years the waiver was received).
• Sign a Master Promissory Note (MPN) agreeing to repay all funds received if the work requirement is not met, including any potential interest accrued.  If the degree or work requirement is not satisfied, you will be required to repay the Grow PA Program.
