What is Non-Degree?

Our Non-Degree Program allows students to take college courses and earn college credits at West Chester University without being enrolled in a formal degree program. By enrolling as a Non-Degree student, high school students can try out college courses, college students from other universities can earn transfer credits, college graduates can test out graduate courses, and community members can take courses to develop new skills or interests.

Students in specialized programs, such as WCU International/National Student Exchange, any Pre-Graduate Certificate Programs, and PA State System (formerly PASSHE) Visiting Scholars are considered non-degree students.

You can take classes at West Chester University as a non-degree student if you meet the admission requirements and submit the appropriate paperwork to enroll. Students must complete the required prerequisite coursework or demonstrate the minimum performance competencies needed for the course prior to enrollment.
