Organization Funding

On this page, you will find resources and information to help your recognized student organization access funding by applying for a semester request or budget.

2026-2027 Annual Budget Information

  • This information will be released later in the Fall semester.
  • As per the Allocation Bylaws, the 2026-2027 Annual Budget request will be for operational dollars only.
  • All other requests will be submitted via Semester Requests during the academic year.

Semester Requests

Per the SGA Allocation Bylaws, any inclusive student organization, recognized by the Office of Student Engagement with an SSI account, is eligible to apply for semester request funding. The semester request form should be used for by organization's treasurer to submit for additional funding.

Please take note of the following to consider before submitting a semester request:

  • Semester request funding encompasses the following events:
    • Championships, conferences, on-campus events, SNAP, sponsorship, and travel (non-conference)
      • Conferences were not allocated in organization's annual operation budgets, therefore must be requested through a semester request
      • On-campus events encompass events occuring on campus that are NOT general body meetings
      • SNAP funding is for emergency funded needed by organizations (i.e. a budget was not submitted for the club's operational expenses)
  • There is no limit on how many semester requests an organization can submit
  • Semester funding is not guaranteed and will be allocated at the discretion of the SGA Allocation Committee.
  • All semester requests need to be submitted a minimum of three full weeks before funds are needed

Once a semester request has been submitted, it will be reviewed by the SGA Director of Allocations. All semester requests will be heard and determined by the Allocations Committee. Once a decision is finalized, the organization's treasurer will receive an email with the decision of the allocations committee as well as next steps.

The SGA Allocations Committee meets TBD during the Fall Semester.

SSI Accounts & Accessing Funds

Student Organizations with SSI accounts need to follow all SSI Policies and Procedures to access their funds. In particular:

  • The SSI Credit Card can be used for online purchases. Treasurers will need to fill out an SSI credit card request form including their advisor's signature
    • Any purchases over $500 require organizations to submit this SGA credit card form in addition to the SSI credit card request form
  • For events involving ticket sales, contact SSI to discuss this process. Organizations must go through SSI to sell tickets for their events.
  • If using Venmo, use WCU-SSI, the SSI Venmo account. No student should use a personal Venmo to collect funds for a student organization
  • Donna Snyder, the executive director of SSI, needs to sign all contracts. No student should sign a contract for a DJ, space, hotel etc.
  • Remember your organization should not be paying any sales tax. A tax exemption form is available in the SSI office.
  • The last day to use the SSI Credit Card is the last day of classes for the spring term.
