Big Queer Welcome  —  August 25th, 2024, Sykes Ballroom 12 pm- 2 pm.

Are you a friend of Dorothy? This year's Big Queer Welcome transports you to the Wonderful World of Oz! We'll follow the yellow brick road from Munchkinland to the gleaming Emerald City. Let us introduce our welcoming and diverse body of Trans and Queer students, faculty, and staff to start the semester off right. Join the LGBTQIA+ community at WCU for a mix & mingle event featuring themed mocktails, a bountiful brunch, and fabulous giveaways. We’ll introduce LGBTQIA+ resources at WCU and get to know our newest community members. We can’t wait to see you over the rainbow!

In celebration of Bisexual Visibility Day, CTQA and oSTEM are collaborating for a Bi-Dye Tie-Dye event. Come join us Tuesday September 17th from 5:00 - 7:00 in the residential quad for tie-dying and snacks!

To celebrate Transgender Awareness Week, let’s practice our Trans Joy! Join the Center for Trans and Queer Advocacy for two social hours of snacks, activities, and community.

O-STEM Mixer- November 19th, Sykes 115, 4pm-6pm 

Join the CTQA and oSTEM for the first ever Student and Staff STEM Mixer. In celebration of LGBTSTEM Day we want to give students and staff the chance to connect, network, and talk about research opportunities. It will be a fun night of music, food, and networking.
