Dr. Erika Brown received both their Masters Degree and Ph.D. in the Philosophy from Villanova University. Prior to their graduate education, they received undergraduate degrees in philosophy and art history from Western Kentucky University. 

Their areas of focus are Audre Lorde’s conception of the erotic and feminist accounts on love and community. Their dissertation focused on Lorde’s erotic and the poetic, sensuous knowledge that stems from it.
