West Chester holds a special place in my heart. As an alumnus, I have benefited greatly from my time at WCU, and I am eager to contribute to the continued success of the University. I truly believe in the power of community and the importance of giving back.

Deidre Gray**

Education: WCU, B.S., Criminal Justice, 1992; Peirce College, M.S., Organizational Leadership and Management, 2019

I am committed to continuing my service on the WCUAA Board to strengthen alumni engagement. Since 2013, I’ve proudly represented WCU, working to recruit new students, reconnect alumni, and build a stronger, more involved community. Serving on the Board is more than a title; it’s a chance to give back to WCU, collaborate with alumni from all generations, and contribute to the growth of our University and Alumni Association. I am a Ram for Life!

Nydair Rouse

Education: WCU, B.A., Communication Studies, 2019

Being that teenage boy from the inner city of Philadelphia, I didn’t know what to expect when stepping on campus. Little did I know that West Chester University would change my life for the better. I’ve encountered so many amazing people and lifelong friends. I bleed purple and gold! I was able to be a first-generation college graduate at this University, and I was able to bring a PSAC football championship back to the University after 40+ years! These are just some of the many reasons why I’m interested in serving on the Board of Directors. I'm dedicated to giving back to my alma mater! Go Rams!

Brian Fillipo

Education: WCU, B.S., Chemistry, 1979; Hahnemann University, M.D., 1983

My time at WCU was instrumental in preparing me for a long and successful career in medicine. Not only did it prepare me academically, it helped me gain the interpersonal skills necessary to become a successful physician and physician leader. As I prepare for retirement, I look forward to working with the Alumni Association and University to continue to grow the infrastructure, programs, and culture that will help grow the next generation of leaders.

Meg Streich

Education: WCU, B.S., Early Grades Prep and Special Education, 2021

West Chester University made me who I am. I arrived in August of 2017 as a directionless and nervous freshman, as many do, and WCU gave me the skills and confidence to expand my career far past the limits of my degree. I would not be the person I am without the experiences gained and connections made through my time at WCU. Even after attending several other universities, I always find myself coming back to WCU.

Lance Bogash**

Education: WCU, B.S., Elementary Education/ Special Education, 1974

I am interested in serving a second term as a member of the WCUAA Board of Directors. I am honored to be the treasurer of the WCUAA. I would like to continue to be active in the many volunteer activities available to me. Being part of the WCUAA has been exciting. Meeting many members of the Alumni Association gives one a sense of how volunteerism works. While attending West Chester State College from 1970-1974, I felt that I received an excellent education that prepared me for teaching. I have seen West Chester develop into what I consider to be the best university in the Pennsylvania State System. I encourage ALL alumni to be active with the WCUAA. I want to continue to be part of the growth and excellence of West Chester University by continuing my service to the Alumni Board.

Eric Frans

Education: WCU, B.A., Psychology, 2015; M.S., WCU, Higher Education Counseling/Student Affairs, 2018; WCU, D.Ed., Higher Education Policy, Planning & Administration, 2023

There would be no Eric Frans without West Chester University. Everything I have become is because of what I learned during my 10 years at WCU. Serving on the Alumni Board of Directors gives me a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on my alma mater. I want to contribute to the decisions that enhance the University’s reputation, support student success, and expand opportunities for graduates. A role on the Board will enable me to merge my pride in my University with purposeful action that will hopefully make a difference for generations to come.

Justin Gildea

Education: Temple University, B.S., Legal Studies, 2012; WCU, M.B.A., 2020

As an MBA graduate of WCU, I am interested in the Alumni Board of Directors to help give back to the University that has helped me grow personally and professionally. I believe my professional experience and connection to West Chester and the Chester County community will allow me to be a strong contributor to the Board’s goals. WCU has been a great place for me to learn, grow, and make connections and I want to help provide other alumni with a similar experience.

Doug Ambler**

Education: WCU, B.S., Social Studies Education, 1971; WCU, M.Ed., Secondary School Counseling, 1972; Penn State University, Principal’s Certificate, 1989; Widener University, Ed.D., Education Leadership, 1993

I have been honored to be a member of the WCUAA Board of Directors for the past three years. By being a member of the Board, I have been able to become more involved in the West Chester University community and I hope that I have made some contributions to the Association and the University. I believe that my experiences and relationships as a member of the Board will enable me to contribute even more to WCUAA and WCU in a second term.

Bill Scottoline

Education: WCU, B.S., Secondary Education-Biology, 19741

Having served on the Board previously, I believe I’m able to offer my experience to the benefit of the Board and its officers. My current service to the West Chester University Foundation as a trustee will bring a different perspective to the Board that I believe will be beneficial as the Foundation continues to execute its mission, which includes optimizing connections to alumni. Most importantly, as a director on the WCUAA, I will be able to once again have a voting interest in the future activities of the Association and help to find more creative ways to bring other alumni closer to the University for the benefit of current and future students.

Marisa Gothie**

Education: WCU, B.A., Literature, 2005; The Institutes, Associate in Claims, 2013; The Institutes, Associate in Claims Management, 2023

Being a member of the WCUAA Board of Directors has allowed me to express my love and gratitude for WCU. West Chester University instills confidence in its students and the WCUAA Board fosters that growth, reminding all alumni that they are a “Ram for Life.” I’ve lived my whole life in West Chester and am proud of the town and the University. It has been an honor to share my love for the University and I would be grateful to continue for another term.

Nancy Baulis**

Education: WCU, B.S., Elementary Education, 1973

I continue to be proud to say I graduated from WCU. The growth of the University has really inspired others to tell me they wish to attend WCU when I wear my jacket. I want to continue to bring my experience from other organizations to the WCU Alumni Board. I also enjoy volunteering for various alumni activities. I fulfill the diversity of various years on the board.
